Listed among the most popular languages among Kenya's tribes, it has lent the nation, especially the youth, some of words in their sheng' library.

Here are some of the words.

1. Juala

To many Kenyans conversant with sheng', especially the youth, juala means a condom.

It shot to popularity years back after it was used in a song dubbed 'Manyake' and has retained its significance.

However, the word is originally a Luo slang which translates to a plastic paper bag.

2. Ng'ado

The word has for some time been used as a slang in the form of 'ng'adwa' which to the users means circumcise.

It is derived from Luo word 'ng'ado which means 'to cut', hence the question among children "umeng'adwa? (have you undergone the cut?)"

3. Gorogoro

Gorogoro is the nickname given to a 2 kilogram tin, a slang mostly used in marketplaces for grain measurements.

The word has its roots from Luo Nyanza.
