President Uhuru Kenyatta's remarks on Sunday presumably targeting Tanga Tanga faction of Jubilee could create further rifts within the ruling party.
On Monday, Kandara MP Alice Wahome became the first legislator allied to Tanga Tanga brigade to openly speak about the president's vent against the team allied to DP William Ruto.
In an interview with NTV, Ms Wahome, a staunch supporter of DP William Ruto, accused the president of being unfair to Mt Kenya leaders.
"It is unfortunate that the President can stand on a religious podium and speak such words to his people," she said, adding that the president was misguided.
While addressing the Akorino conference at Kasarani on Sunday, Uhuru accused Tanga Tanga brigade of sabotaging his agenda from for the country.
“This “mikora” (thugs) we’ve chosen and are politicking, let them not think that I am their small boy,” said Uhuru as quoted by the Standard.
“It’s just that I said that I don’t want politics, let them not think that they can threaten me, I will weed them out wherever they go,” he said.
The Head of State warned of unspecified consequences for Tanga Tanga team, adding that he will soon deal with them at their constituencies.
“If someone is a mheshimiwa let him go back to the village and build schools and (install) electricity with the monies that have been given. Stop moving around and saying how big (sic) you will be you are headed nowhere,” he said.
