A one-year-old child has been left without a mother after the father killed the mother in Baringo.

Laban Kamuren, 30, is said to have killed his wife Judith Chesang, 22 in unclear circumstances.

"I watched my in-law hit my sister on the head several times before she collapsed and became unconscious. The other women fled," Nancy Chesang said.

Chesang said the man hacked the deceased with a panga.

"As I was trying to help lift up my sister, Laban returned and hacked her with a panga on the neck and head," she added.

Area chief Agnes Keitany confirmed the incident.

Police said they are hunting down the suspect.
