The 1st Jumuiya Agribusiness and Blue Economy Investment Conference 2018, has been rescheduled to November 19th - 20th, 2018 at Pride Inn Beach Resort, in Mombasa.
Organizers of the event said it has been rescheduled from November 14th - 16th, at Ocean Beach Hotel, in Malindi to the said date so as to accommodate President Uhuru Kenyatta and other dignitaries who will be accompanying him to the conference.
According to the Jumuia ya Kaunti za Pwani (JKP) Secretariat CEO Emmanuel Nzai, the Coast Regional bloc - JKP has partnered with the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to host the event which is also a pre-conference of the first global Sustainable Blue Economy Conference (SBEC) that will be held in Nairobi on November 26th – 28th, 2018.
Among other things, the conference, first of its kind, seeks to:
1. Achieve advocate for an improved enabling business environment and relations among the six JKP member counties with respect to the smooth flow of products and services along the agricultural value chains across the coastal counties and beyond.
2. Matchmake between agribusiness and blue economy stakeholders with business farming communities, governments and academic institutions.
3. Market business ideas/projects and products for enhancing best practices/innovations and access to domestic, regional and global markets.
4. Catalyze partnership discussions towards investments in agribusiness (Horticulture, Livestock and Fisheries), FNS and Blue Economy.

5. Advocate for an improved enabling trade/business environment and relations among the Counties in the region with respect to the smooth flow of products and services along the agricultural value chains across the Counties in JKP and beyond.
On October 31, Nzai held a consultative meeting on a possible partnership with ICPAK Chairman Wasonga ahead of the conference.
