Nyeri town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has claimed that the fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto is evident from the fact that he no longer sends him with contributions to different functions.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Wambugu said that Uhuru has resolved to send other parties to represent him to function because he has lost trust in Ruto.
The lawmaker claimed that Ruto has proved that he is more ambitious than any other person in the current Jubilee government as he seeks to succeed President Kenyatta when he completes his second and final term in power.
Wambugu also questioned whether Ruto has been lying to the people whenever he claims that Uhuru has sent him only for cash to be delivered by other persons. He cited the case where Murang'a Women Representative Sabina Chege was sent with money yet Ruto was attending the same function.
"On 6th December 2019, Hon Sabina Chege presented President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cash contribution at a function that Deputy President William Ruto was present at, in Maragua; Muranga County. Today 7th January 2020 Hon Kanini Kega presented President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cash contribution at a function that Deputy President William Ruto was at, in Mathira," Nyeri County, he said.
He added, "Clearly the President is not sending his Deputy President with contributions to functions (anymore). But the DP is always saying he has been sent by the President with a cash contribution whenever he has a Harambee in Mt Kenya (exclusively).Which begs the question. Has the DP being lying when he says he has been sent by the President with a contribution - which is ironically always smaller than the DP’s own contribution incidentally and why?"
Uhuru and Ruto have maintained that there are no cracks in Jubilee even as they seem to speak in different languages.
