Just recently, the former Vice President made an unexpected U-turn and attended the Kakamega Building Bridges Initiative  (BBI) meeting despite having criticized the meeting before.

His move elicited mixed reactions with his critics using his move to fire political salvos at the man who dreams to lead the country.

According to Omari, the former Sabatia MP's move to show up at the meeting was surprising, given that he had emerged as the country's opposition voice.

"I was surprised to see him at the meeting. This means he has no stand. He has been standing as the only voice of reason for the opposition but a mere treat to a presidential trip to Garissa to launch a wind power project seems to have changed everything," the analyst told the Star.

Even former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale hit out at the ANC leader saying that he has no strategy to win a presidential election in future.

Mudavadi has been giving mixed signals in his support for the Building Bridges Initiative report.

In the run to the Kakamega BBI rally, he had accused ODM leader Raila Odinga of trying to use the meeting to undermine him in the region where he is widely seen as the de facto leader.
