Political analyst Mark Bichachi has lashed out at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for sticking to manual mode of operations.
Speaking on KTN's Inside Politics on Sunday, he took issue with the IEBC which on Thursday approved 1.2 million votes from the Thirdway Alliance in line with its referendum push.
He stressed on the need for the agency to embrace new technology on matters collection of such, saying that world is so developed and there is dire need for changes.
"First let me make address, its 2019, 2,000 years after Jesus was here and we still want to collect physical signatures, there is something absolutely wrong with that," he said.
He said that the same also comes in handy with regards to upholding democracy, noting that the collection of physical signatures is a mockery to the democracy Kenya claims to be having.
"The whole point of democracy is to make it easier and easier for people to practice that democracy so if it was collected by e-signaures congratulations to Thirdway alliance for using technology," he said.
The Punguza Mizigo push comes only a few years after the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) 'Okoa Kenya' push which was thrown out by IEBC before the 2017 polls.
This was after the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led side failed to present enough signatures, failing to beat the 1 million minimum requirement.
