Speaking during an interview with NTV on Thursday at his Karen Home in Nairobi, DP Ruto said that his support for the head of state had no strings attached.

He reiterated that he stood with the head of state because he wanted the nation to be united and realize economic growth.

On whether Uhuru will back his candidature, Ruto said that he can ascertain that but he is sure that the President will back a candidate from the Jubilee Party.

He noted that he is also ready to support any other candidate if he is defeated during Jubilee nominations when that time comes.

"I supported President Kenyatta not because I wanted him to support me thereafter. I never gave him a condition and I never made a claim. One thing that I know about him is that he is going to support a Jubilee Party candidate when time comes," he said.

On the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), Ruto said he is fully behind the report. He asked other leaders to debate on issues of national interest rather than engage in sideshows when they meet to popularize the report.
