Ezekiel Oimba from Mombasa is the new millionaire in town.
This is after the 39-year-old father of four won Sh22 million Sportpesa midweek jackpot.
The husband of one who works at the Kenya Ferry Service (KFS) was awarded a dummy cheque of his prize at City Mall, Mombasa by Sportpesa officials after being contacted on Saturday that he had won.
Confirming the win through Facebook, Sportpesa said: "Christmas eve 🌟 brings good tidings of great joy to Ezekiel Oimba who is our latest millionaire from Mombasa after winning the SportPesaJackpot worth Kshs 22,244,187."
“Betting had become a hobby since 2016. I got the message that I had won I did not believe. I later called my wife and informed her. I have always dreamt to venture into a real estate business and I am sure the money will help me make this dream come true," said Oimba.

He disclosed that he will not quit his KFS job despite the win.
The wife, Lilian Awini, said: “My husband has been betting for a long time. I always helped him with money when he had none to place the bets and I am happy that his efforts have borne fruits."
Oimba plans to take his family on holiday this Christmas and go back to work after the festivities.
“My family is my priority and I will let them go wherever they will decide although personally I cannot travel out of the country because of a surgery I recently underwent."
