Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has for once spoken on the much anticipated 2022 presidential race.
Speaking on JKL on Wednesday, Atwoli cautioned Deputy President William Ruto who is eyeing the seat that he risks losing, despite apparently being among the front-runners and possible victors.
He said that Ruto, though a good leader, is surrounded by unsuitable people, noting that his dream might flop should he not reconstitute his team of advisers.
''He is a good leader but will have to reconstitute his team of advisers to win,'' said the vocal trade unionist.
Asked about his take on opposition leader Raila Odinga and the possibility of him taking a fifth shot at the top seat, Atwoli expressed uncertainty, saying that he remains unaware of the former Prime Minister's plans.
Atwoli also reiterated his earlier claims that the nation will approach the polls on a new constitution, adding that Kenyans will soon head for a referendum to introduce a more inclusive leadership system.
''Everybody wants to be in government, this is the case even in Europe and I am telling you that we will have a new constitution in 2022 to quash the current winner take it all system,'' he told Jeff Koinange, the host.
