As a way of improving service delivery to citizens, Nakuru County Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have vowed to collaborate with institutions of public oversight.
Speaking on Thursday during a round table meeting, Nakuru Civil Society Organizations forum convener Bancy Kubutha said partnership between citizen oversight groups, and the public oversight institutions is paramount in service delivery.
She called on all CSOs and public oversight institutions in Nakuru to continue working together towards improving service delivery to the people by ensuring accountability and transparency.
The areas of partnership agreed upon include; strengthening accountability, enhancing public participation, bridging the divide between oversight institutions and the public, supporting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and improving policy environment.
“These are areas of partnership we have identified, areas that we can work together and ensure that we have a county that every citizen is proud of," she said.
The meeting was organized by the Centre for Enhancing Democracy and Good Governance.
It was attended by representatives of the County Assembly, officials from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, officers from; the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, National Land Commission, civil society organizations , resident associations, and citizen oversight groups.
