Aisha Jumwa has reiterated her stance on her support for Deputy President William Ruto.
The Malindi MP who has always been a staunch ODM supporter and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's ally at the coast has 'turned against' the party and declared her allegiance on Ruto ahead of the 2022 presidential race.
On Saturday, Ruto was in Vanga, Kwale county for a public meeting that was attended by several local leaders including Jumwa.
The lawmaker maintained that she would support Ruto for development, especially after her party leader, Raila, declared support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee government.
"Dau hili ambalo nimelipanda, laitwa sishuki... (this boat that I've boarded, I'll not alight)," Jumwa said referring to her support for Ruto, sending the DP and the crowd to stitches.
She said nothing will make her change tune over her new-found relationship with Ruto. Click here to watch exactly what she said.
"I stand firm to work with the government as part of the Building Bridges Initiative in order to fulfill the Big Four Agenda in our country."
On his part, Ruto emphasised that the government was doing everything possible to implement the Big Four Agenda.
"We require a united front to fulfill our Big Four- food security, manufacturing, housing and universal healthcare- and ensure unity, peaceful relationships among all communities. We are ready to partner with all leaders to push our development agenda and secure a better country," said Ruto.
