Speaking during Citizen TV Day Break Show on Tuesday, the National Lands Commission outgoing Vice Chair Abigael Mbagaya revealed that DP Ruto will have to pay for this land and pursue those who sold it to him later.

“If he wants, he can go after the people who sold it to him….that’s what we are doing…you return it because it’s you we has been caught on the ground then you chase whoever else who sold it to you to recover your money,” said  Abigael Mbagaya as quoted by Citizen.

According to Abigael Mbagaya, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) will use this money to buy another piece of land elsewhere.

She also revealed that valuation will be carried out on the land Weston Hotel sits on and the findings shared with Kenyans.

This comes a week after DP Ruto accepted that his Weston Hotel’s land was illegally acquired by people who sold it to him.

Speaking during BBC’s HARDTalk Show hosted by Stephen Sackur, DP Ruto revealed for the first time that he innocently bought land that had been illegally acquired.
