Many students in Kenyatta University were following keenly the Russia-Spain game. Most had placed their different bets, while others just cheering Russia to beat Spain. The fact that Sergio Ramos was among the Spain players, and having been involved in a dangerous foul on Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was the reason most students went against Spain.During the extra time of this much-heated match, a foul on Ramos inside the penalty box seemed questionable. However, the referee didn’t go to check on the VAR review but instead communicated with his assistants in the communication room. They ruled against it being a penalty. This was expected by most students, calling it “#The-Putin-factor.” They further had various reactions after the game. With the game being in Russia, pretty much everyone had the same thought. Here are funny reactions from students after the referee “denied” Spain the penalty:Maxwell-xoxo: “The VAR room is not secure enough to give a 114th-minute penalty against Russia, no!!!!”Salah-in-my-blood: “Ref had to balance making the right decision against his ability to touch car door handles with confidence for rest of life.”Captain-rose: “Putin was standing behind the VAR officials with a Polonium Sandwich.”Mercilysweee: “113th minute...Spain player goes down in the box...you’re the referee...Putin watching from the stands....yeahhh about that penalty........”Ahmed-ali: “Putin was about to call in a drone strike on the penalty review booth.”Richard-wa-caro: “Can’t believe Putin didn’t give that penalty #SPARUS.”Brendah-msweet: “Just checking with VAR who are just checking with Putin...”Sammy-mwangi: “the VAR review was just message from Putin saying he knows where all their families live. He had to save his family..hehe”Sue-wa-nyayo: “Putin stepped in and said, yeah you aren't reversing that in my country.”
