Dating is not prohibited in many colleges and universities in the country as students are given the freedom to mingle with fellow colleagues.
At Kenyatta University main campus, students are allowed to be in relationships so long as it does not lead to sexual harassment, as this is a serious crime that can get you expelled from the campus.
However, such cases are rarely reported as the majority of students follow the right way of wooing fellow comrades.
A section of male comrades, however, prefer dating ladies who are not students at the campus.
These ladies, most of whom live in estates near the campus, also love the idea of dating a campus guy.
This makes it easier for KU guys to win the hearts of these ladies, as the "Mimi ni second-year hapa KU" introduction is enough to make her smile.
It is also easier for the guys to invite the ladies over and even convince them to spend the night at the hostels, as they are usually not aware of the 10-to-10 rule, where you are allowed to visit the hostels of the opposite sex as from 10am and leave before 10pm.
Here are some of the reasons why these ladies should think twice before agreeing to spend the night in his room.
1. The guy might decide to 'share' you with his friends
Yes, sometimes comrades just decide to do this weird thing where when your guy leaves the room, maybe to relieve himself, one of his friends comes in and tries to seduce you.
2. You might get arrested
The campus law prohibits ladies from staying in the male hostels and vice versa beyond 10pm. If you are a fellow student you will be punished according to the school rules which include paying a certain fee as a penalty. You will also not be allowed into the hostels for the rest of your academic years. For outsiders, this will be a police case.
3. You'll disturb other students
Assuming you are being hosted by a guy in a four-shared room, his roommates might not agree to be exiled. This means you will interfere with their normal programme as they are not used to having a girl around. However, if they accept to leave the room, chances of them playing the weird game mentioned in point 1 are high.
