Former news anchor Kellen Kanze Dena, is the new State House Spokesperson and Head of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU).
This is after President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed her appointment in a brief statement by State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita.
Uhuru through Waita, wished Dena success and asked all stakeholders to support her.
"We wish Ms Dena success in her new role and ask all stakeholders including PSCU staff, the media and colleagues in government to accord her the support she needs to excel," the statement read in part on Friday afternoon.
Dena was appointed deputy State House Spokesperson before serving in the same position in an acting capacity, when her boss, Manoah Esipisu, was appointed Kenya's envoy to the United Kingdom in July 2018 by Kenyatta.
Dena who hails from the Kenyan coast, becomes the first female State House Spokesperson and Head of PSCU.
