Hivisasa last week reported about the death of Bomet East Member of Parliament Beatrice Kones son.
The 39-year-old son, Collins Kipyegon, was the suspected to have taken his own life, what was later confirmed to be true.
The late had posted messages on social media suggesting he wanted to take away his life following a disagreement with his wife and his friend who saw the messages rushed to his home in the outskirts of Nakuru county only to find him in an unconscious state.
He was confirmed dead at Nakuru War Memorial Hospital when the friends tried to seek medical assistance.
MP Beatrice Kones was in South Africa attending a pan-African parliamentary meeting at the time and said that the late had sent him a suggestive message before committing suicide during the burial of her son at Kaporuso village in Bomet East sub-county on Saturday as reported by the nation.
"He sent me a message stating he was taking his life and I should take care of his children. The action was unwarranted as he did not lack anything,” said legislator Kones during the burial.
Mrs Kones said her son, Kipyegon was her driver and partner in farming enterprise adding that he was only the member of their family who was not into politics.
She suggested counselling centres with qualified counsellors should be made available in every country to help youths cope with life challenges.
DP Ruto sent his condolences through cabinet Secretary Keter and other leaders present at the burial included Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Morkomen among others.
