Uhuru on Friday, October 26, celebrated his 57th birthday, amid a flood of congratulatory messages from fellow leaders and politicians.

In his message, however, Mwaura vowed to aid Kenyatta in his ongoing war against graft as his birthday present to the Head of State.

‘’Ni hongera kwa rais kwa kusherehekea siku yake ya kuzaliwa. Mimi nitampa zawadi ya kumsaidia kupiga nchi hii msasa na kumaliza ufisadi

(I wish him happy birthday celebrations and vow to aid him to eradicate corruption as my present to him),’’ said the vocal lawmaker.

The former Ruiru parliamentary hopeful was speaking on Radio Jambo’s ‘Mazungumzo Waziwazi’ on Saturday morning.

This comes at a time when the President has demonstrated his determination to eradicate the menace, repeatedly warning of dire consequences against those implicated in the same.

Currently on his desk is the alleged graft saga at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) where maize cartels have reportedly claimed millions of money at the expense of maize farmers.

He has repeatedly hit out at Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri over the same, and recently threatened to sack him should the issue not be addressed.

Others who have sent their congratulatory messages include Deputy President William Ruto and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
