Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has dismissed Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana’s presidential ambition.
In a video by Nation, Muthama said Kibwana is a joker in the race for the presidency, and should know campaigns for the top seat is no way a child’s play.
“I told Kibwana that if he is serious about running for presidency, he should go to Mombasa at Tononoka grounds and call for a meeting. If he gets 200 people, I will ask other people to leave the race to him,” Muthama said.
The ex-senator said reports that Kibwana wants Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to back him for the top seat is laughable.
He compared the governor to a kid who wants to teach a teacher who is qualified all the way to the university.
“How can a teacher who has gone all the way to the university sit down to be taught by a kid? I would laugh at Kalonzo if he decides to back Kibwana,” Muthama said.
The governor’s presidential ambition was ‘launched’ by netizens last year when they demanded that he runs for the top seat.
The governor later ‘accepted the endorsement’ in Mombasa while attending a meeting for accountants from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
“I don’t mind trying, but I have one condition that three-quarters of you (accountants) must support me,” the governor said.
