A youthful MP from Gusii allegedly ordered hired goons to strip naked and beat three people believed to be his opponents.
South Mugirango legislator Sylvanus Osoro is said to have ordered for arrest of the three for allegedly booing and throwing stones at him on the eve of New Year at Nyabigege area where he was attending a football tournament.
One of the victim (name withheld) said they were descended on after being released from Nyamarambe Police Station on Wednesday upon the intervention of the complainant.
"We were released and boarded the MPs vehicle. He was accompanied by a number of his supporters. On the way, they stripped us naked and beat us badly. Two of my colleagues had to seek medical attention at Tabaka mission," he said.
But Mr Osoro, a close ally of DP William Ruto and his pointsman across Kisii and Nyamira, has denied the allegations insisting that he only rescued the three from police station upon the intervention of local elders.
He said:"I was called by elders and they asked me to drop the case. I did that and even gave them fare back home a day later. I don't know who beat them. This is pure politics but the matter is with the police," he argued.
Area Police Commander Bernard Muli confirmed the incident but insisted that the matter is under investigations adding that an action will be taken after the conclusion of independent investigations.
"Yes I am aware of the matter but we should not be out under pressure. We are investigating to ascertain the claims. We shall inform you when all has been concluded."
Throughout 2017, Osoro was the lead organiser of Ruto's 20 rallies in Gusii region and was seen earlier this week at Kakamega with the Deputy President.
