Popular Kikuyu prophet cum musician Muigai Njoroge has released new cover music challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta over the fight against corruption.
The song was released on Friday and uploaded on the singer's YouTube channel.
In part of the song titled Tukunia (Sacks), Muigai Njoroge warns Uhuru that he is surrounded by individuals, he termed as sacks, who are derailing graft purge as they would never tell him the real situation on the ground.
He also challenges the president to adopt a new way in the fight pointing out that "the greediness with those people" will cost him.
"During the era of Mau Mau, there were people who blocked the struggle. They were 'sacks' who derailed the effort due to greediness. Dear Baba (Uhuru Kenyatta) kindly you are surrounded by these 'sacks' who cannot tell you the truth because of dishonesty. A hungry person will never tell you the truth even if you shout at him. But let me tell you the truth...the kind of poverty in Kenya is extremely high. On the ground, things are very different. (Hindi ya Maumau kwali na andu mahingiriire mbala ya mau mau. Aya metagwo tokonia na marituhirie wira ni gukoroka. Ona Baba (pictures Uhuru image) wirore urigicairio ni andu matagikuira uma niundu Wa gukoroka. Aya maihuirwo ni uhinga. Baba Mundu muhutu ndari matu ma kuigua Ona uginegena)," notes Muigai Njoroge in part.
Apparently, the singer shunned from mentioning the specific individuals but opted to criticize them indirectly.
The release of the song comes just days after singer King Kaka released a controversial song dubbed 'Wajinga Nyinyi' which sparked a nationwide debate.
