After about 24-hours since securing bail following the ruling by Justice Jessie Lessit, Governor Okoth Obado has finally been released from Industrial Area prison.

The Migori County boss was remanded on Wednesday to allow his legal team process the bail, which included Sh5 million and surity of an equal amount.

For the better part of Thursday, his legal team led by retired Judge Nicholus Ombija and Mr. Cliff Ombeta, was in court processing the bail.

At around 7pm, Mr. Obado walked from the gates of the Industrial prison accompanied by his immediate family, legal team and a few supporters.

On her ruling, Justice Lessit ordered Mr. Obado to surrender all her travel documents besides keeping off from discussing jai girlfriend Sharon Otieno's murder in public rallies.

He was also given a limited space within which he can travel with the judge warning him from visiting Sharon Otieno's home as well. 

And in the tough conditions, Obado was asked to report to court every month until May 2018 when the trial of Sharon's murder will formally start.

His freedom comes after almost two months in jail where he was arrested in connection with Sharon's murder along with his aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero.
