Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Friday confirmed his presence in Kisumu County.

The leader landed at the Kisumu International Airport on Thursday, in a secret move that was kept off the eye and ears of the media and public.

On Friday, he held talks with Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o regarding the upcoming tour of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the region.

Also present during the meeting, was a delegation of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders in the county

"Met with Governor Anyang' Nyong'o ahead of a consultative meeting with the @TheODMParty officials and members on matters relating to the upcoming Universal Healthcare Coverage launch in the lakeside city," he tweeted.

Uhuru is expected to land in the county on Thursday, December 13, before proceeding to among others, preside over the official launch of the Universal Healthcare Coverage.

The meeting was as well confirmed by Nyong'o in his official twitter page, confirming his readiness to host the Head of State.

"With great pleasure and honor this morning I hosted Rt.Hon. @RailaOdinga in my office ahead of his consultative meeting with @TheODMparty officials in anticipation of the mega national UHC launch by President @UKenyatta in his visit to Kisumu on Thursday next week," Nyong'o tweeted.
