Actress Lupita Nyong'o is with no doubt a happy woman after Black Panther racked up seven nominations for the 91st Academy Awards.

The nomination of the movie for the Best Picture gong has given the actress yet another chance to bag a coveted award. 

The actress, a daughter to Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o, could not hide her joy following the nomination of the movie. She took to Twitter where she posted the news.

 “Seven #OscarNoms for #BlackPanther, including best picture!! This is our reaction the first time we saw footage from the film and we're feeling this way all over again today,” she said.

"The year has begun on a good note for the actress, who became quite a world sensation following her sterling performance in the film, ‘12 years a Slave’."

The actress won the award of a supporting actress and since then she has been hitting headlines in the Hollywood entertainment industry. 

She has starred in several movies including Shuga and ‘In My Genes’. Besides the acting industry, she has been active in the music sector as well. 

She is accredited for directing Wahu featuring Bob Wine music video ‘The Little Things You Do’ featuring Bobi Wine. She is now considered a role model to many youths who want to pursue their careers in acting.
