A section of Kitutu Masaba constituents have asked Nyamira County senator Erick Okong’o Mogeni to resign over alleged failure to oversight the county.
Led by activists Omweri Nyagesoa, Robert Abuya and Daniel Mosigisi said the senator should resign voluntarily.
“We have not seen any work Okong’o is doing for the last one year. It is time he should pack and go home so that we can elect someone who is willing to help us,” said Nyagesoa.
Mr. Abuya on his part stated that they will mobilize Nyamira residents to collect signatures for sole purpose of recalling the senator.
“Senator Okong’o is lazy and there is no need of us allowing him to continue being in office. He promised that he will not fail in his oversight roles in the county but, he has done the opposite,” said Abuya.
Mosigisi reiterated that the senator is a total failure since his oversight roles have not been seen for the last 1 year.
“No one should cheat us that senator Okong’o is working. We have seen by ourselves and he should resign voluntarily before we humiliate him,” he said.
