Deputy President William Ruto now claims that three rebel MPs from Rift Valley could have been paid from Kabarak to taint his name.
Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, Silas Tiren of Moiben and Joshua Kuttuny of Cherangany came out guns blazing on Saturday over maize farming tribulations in which they directly implicated DP Ruto.
But through nominated MP Gideon Keter, Ruto says the MPs were under firm instructions by referendum architects.
"MPs accusing DP are professional gossipers hired to spread maliceWe have Intel about secret meetings between maize suppliers, Ruto’s rivals and three Rift MPs.
"Instead of addressing challenges nges facing farmers and possible solutions, the desperados have chosen be goons for hire to dirty Ruto’s reputation by serving interests of impresarios who want to supply maize.Telling us that DP want to supply maize from his 500,000-acre maize plantation in Congo because he was addressing a regional forum in the same country two months ago amounts to idiocy.
"They were the once used to spread calls for referendum but were ashamed when Ruto confessed that he was not opposed to change of law. They have again gone for another loot of money to ignite nonexistent propaganda," he said.https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2017799181592636&id=799457250093508
Before the release of the statement by the three MPs, Tiren was one of leaders who had visited Kabarak when former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka paid retired President Daniel Moi courtesy call.
Gideon Moi, who is keen to rival Ruto in 2022 elections, is one of proponents of the referendum along with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
