Sharon Otieno, a pregnant university student who went missing on Monday is dead, reports the Nation.

Ms. Otieno, a Medical Records second year student at Rongo University, was abducted on Monday along with Nation Journalist Barrack Oduor from Graca Hotel in Rongo.

Her father Douglas Otieno, confirmed that the lifeless body of Sharon was retrieved at Oyusi Level Four Hospital on Tuesday night after a day of search.

Mr. Oduor escaped death by a whisker after jumping out of the speeding car of their kidnappers.

The latest turnout of events could ignite political temperatures given that Migori Governor Okoth Obado's personal aide Michael Oyamo is directly implicated.

He was arrested at Uriri on Tuesday at taken for interrogation by detectives.

According to Oduor, Mr. Oyamo had lured the two to Graca Hotel before being driven hastily in a waiting tinted car.

Reports indicate that Ms. Otieno's body was retrieved from K'Odera forest in Homa Bay.
