Nyamira County ladies who are yet to be married have been warned against prostitution during the Christmas celebration.
According to Nyamira County Commissioner Isaiah Nakoru, ladies should stop selling their bodies to men in the exchange of money.
"I am appealing to ladies to stop engaging in sex trade during this Christmas celebration. At the same time as government we are not going to condone prostitution," said the county boss.
Nakoru insisted that alcohol selling joints should not admit underage girls to work as waitresses.
"Any bar found accommodating young girls will be closed down and owners arrested. Members of the public should celebrate Christmas in peace," he added.
He urged parents not to misuse all their money to buy expensive clothes and foods to celebrate Christmas.
"After Christmas parents must know their children are going back to school. I am therefore, urging parents not to use all their money to buy expensive clothes, foods and alcohol to forget about school re-opening next year," noted Nakoru.
Nakoru maintained that men chasing school girls for sex during the Christmas celebrations won't be tolerated.
