The MP says Muturi cannot be impeached for doing his work as the speaker.

Munyaka said the MPs who opposed the bill were driven by anger.

The Jubilee legislature said they will protect Muturi from any threats.

“It is ridiculous for some MPs to threaten the speaker with impeachment,” Munyaka said.

He addressed the press in his constituency on Saturday.

Munyaka said MPs who opposed the bill failed hence should accept the outcome of the vote.

He said the losers should accept and move on since the vote on the bill was democratic.

A section of MPs among them Matungulu’s Stephen Mule has threatened to initiate Muturi’s impeachment.

The lawmaker argues that Muturi alongside Garissa Township MP Aden Duale used their positions to influence the MPs' voting on the bill.

On Thursday, MPs passed the Finance Bill 2018 despite the witnessed chaotic and unruly scene in parliament.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has since signed the bill into Law.
