Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has called upon US President Donald Trump and other world leaders to assist Kenya in the war against graft.
Speaking during the opening of the Sh7 billion Mars Wrigley Confectioneries plant at Athi-River on April 23, the second term Governor said that corruption has reached unprecedented levels.
He noted that Kenya has continued to lag behind in terms of development because of massive cases of corruption.
He further argued that it will take the intervention of other nations in the world to end this vice once and for all.
“I call on the US, European and Asian countries to take a stand on corruption in our nation and make it hard for corrupt people to transfer their illegally acquired monies abroad. I also recommend that these people be denied them access into these countries,” he posted on his Facebook account.
The county boss, who also doubles up as Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement leader, also pleaded with Kenyan leaders to support President Uhuru Kenyatta in the war against graft before he leaves State House.
He said that the citizens of this nation are tired of languishing in poverty yet they are endowed with resources and pledged not to relent in the war against vice.
