Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has urged the government to incorporate corruption into the school’s curriculum.
The second term governor, who spoke in Mombasa on Tuesday during a meeting with teachers, said that students can play an immense role in the fight to end graft in this nation.
He noted that the vice has reached unprecedented levels and it’s upon various stakeholders to ensure that it is rooted out of the leadership by all means.
He argued that learners should be taught the effects of corruption so that they can champion in the fight against the same.
“I propose that the effects of corruption be a lesson in our education curriculum from Standard one to doctorate level,” he said, as quoted by Standard.
The governor also noted that the nation has continued to lag behind as far as development is concerned because of massive graft cases witnessed in the government.
He further cautioned that unless the government puts in place the right measures, the fight against the issue will be null and void.
He has been urging President Uhuru Kenyatta to crack the whip on big fish to ensure that the fight to make this nation corruption free is successful.
The governor has been backing the issue of lifestyle audit on all government officials to ensure transparency.
