Kisii residents have reacted following the arrest of Migori County Governor Okoth Obado.
The locals while speaking in Kisii town on Wednesday evening condemned the DCI detectives for harassing the county boss.
"It is sad that Mr. Obado is being frustrated due to his political stand. The DCI should stop harassing the governor who was elected to serve the people," said a local Titus Mogesa.
Amos Magero accused the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of his continued efforts to bring down the ODM governor after he opposed the party decision during the senatorial by-election.
"Mr. Odinga must respect the will of the people in Migori and allow Obado to continue serving them. EACC raided Obado's home on Tuesday without a legal explanation at the same time Raila met with a delegation from Migori county. This is a clear indication that the presidential loser is fighting Obado politically," said Magero.
Peter Ochieng a Boda boda rider in Kisii town said Obado will remain to be the governor in Migori even if the DCI arrests him 100 times.
"No one is going to stop Obado from completing his term. Raila must respect Obado because he has a right to make his opinion publicly. EACC was sent by Raila to Obado's home," said Ochieng.
The DCI arrested Obado for questioning after 8 guns were recovered in his house during the raid by EACC on Tuesday.
