Garissa County Governor Ali Bunow Korane met with the European Union's ambassador to Kenya Simon Mordue on Tuesday.
In a message shared on his Twitter handle, Korane revealed the sprawling agenda that informed their discussion.
The county boss said that he discussed with Ambassador Simon Mordue ways in which members states of the European Union can help Garissa meet its socio-economic development goals.
"I met with @EUinKenya Ambassador H.E. Simon Mordue @EuMordue at the EU offices in Nairobi. We discussed ways the EU member states could support Garissa Integrated Socio-Economic Development Plan (GISEDP) particularly in uplifting the lives and livelihoods of our communities," Karone's tweet read.
Garissa county continues to grapple with a bewildering array of challenges including poor infrastructure, water scarcity among other challenges.
The first time county boss has been looking for partners to help him deliver on the promises he made to the people of Garissa County.
The EU is known to advance aid to counties and states in the African continent.
Garissa is one of the least developed counties in Kenya, a function of years of marginalisation under different regimes.
Devolution ignited development hopes as the county can now identify its own development priorities and work on them based on the money that it receives from the national government.
