The deceased’s father David Gitahi Nduro want justice and action taken against the officers who committed the crime.

A report by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights had confirmed that the inmate who died on June 15 was tortured to death.

Simon who was serving a life sentence for robbery with violence was beaten up by some of the warders when he was found sitting down instead of queuing for food.

Two warders allegedly involved in the incident have been interdicted while the officer in charge of the prison Mathew Mutisya was recalled to the headquarters.

Simon’s father, David, asked the government to intervene in the matter and ensure those involved in their son’s murder are arrested.

“We are asking the DPP and the DCI to take up the issue and charge the officers,” said David as quoted by standardmedia.co.ke.

David who thanked the human rights for the report on Simon’s death said the matter should be taken seriously and that the family is suffering following their son’s death.

“I thank KNCHR, and the pathologist who was very open and candid that my son was tortured to death by the warders,” he said.
