Sportpesa is arguably the biggest sports betting company in East and Central Africa, and its wings are growing by the day.
The company is rumored to be planning on listing on the Nairobi Stock Exchange, which will be a massive step in the right growth direction.
The firm, which is owned by five Kenyans, three Bulgarians and an American national currently sponsors Kenyan clubs and other sporting events but has extended to other parts of Europe.
Here are clubs that the company has been working with;
1. Arsenal
Arsenal and Sportpesa got into an agreement for the betting firm to become the Official African Betting Partner of Arsenal with rights of association across the whole of the African continent.
The deal was signed in 2016, which was an extension of an earlier deal between the two firms.
2. Southampton
Sportpesa signed a deal with the Saints to be their official betting partner. The 3-year deal will see Saints supporting the development of young football players in Kenya by sending Football Development & Support Staff to the African nation, with young Kenyan players visiting the club’s Staplewood Campus to experience the demands of football development at a Premier League club.
3. Everton
Everton is one of the beneficiaries of Sportpesa sponsoring. The English side plays with their jerseys branded Sportpesa, and have held friendly matches with East African teams as part of the agreement.
SportPesa replaced Chang Beer produced by South Asia’s largest beer-maker Thai Beverage on the front of the club’s kit, in a deal worth five years.
