Outspoken Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Saturday morning held a closed-door meeting with retired President Daniel Moi at Kabarak.
The meeting comes few months after President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga visited the former Head of State.
A communication officer attached to Joho's office said the meeting focused on reconciliation and healing of the country.
"Yes he is in a meeting with President Moi. The major aim is to discuss efforts to reconcile this nation.
"Thereafter, the governor will visit Maralal where he will open a new Mosque following invitation by MP Naisula Lesuuda," said Felix Mariera.
On Sunday, Joho will pitch camp at Churo Amaya ward in Baringo county where he will preside over another fundsdrive for Churo Girl's secondary school.
Communication Director Richard Chacha had said that the tour is part of the Building Bridges Initiative.
"His tour is part of Bulding Bridges Initiative. He will traverse the whole country to unite people," he said.
The meeting with senior Moi could send another signal given that his boss, Raila Odinga has visited in April.
Early this year, Joho hosted Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, perhaps another coded message of a cooking political alliance.
