The Dandora-based human activist Caroline Mwatha's body was found on Tuesday 12th February dead at City Mortuary.
Police reports had indicated that activist Caroline Mwatha met his death while at a clinic called New Njiru Community Centre in Dandora, where she went to procure an abortion.
Her family has come to dismiss the police reports holding that she was not pregnant.
Her husband Joshua Ochieng, who works in Dubai and jetted back to the country on Sunday, February 10, was quick to dismiss the report.
In his view, Caroline was always against abortion for the time he has known her.
Mr Ochieng claimed even if his wife was pregnant, it's possible the pregnancy is his because he was intimate with her the last time he was in the country, August last year.
“And, even if she was pregnant, it could as well be mine. Why? Because the last time I was in Kenya was in late August last year, and we got intimate. If you do your calculation, then the 5-plus months' pregnancy that police are alleging could as well be mine. But, what I am sure is she wasn’t pregnant,” said the husband.
Mr Ochieng further indicated he last spoke to her the day she went missing, and never felt she was distressed. As far as he is concerned, for more than 10 years they have been married, he has never suspected her of infidelity.
Caroline's father Stanslaus Mbao, also pocked holes on the police report, indicating her daughter has never told him about the pregnancy, holding that he is very open with her daughter.
“Most likely, police have fabricated the narrative. A 5-month pregnancy isn’t something you can hide. And, my daughter was very open with me. Had she been pregnant, she would have told me.
"Which kind of abortion is conducted by deeply cutting the thighs, pricking the abdomen and stabbing the neck?” posed Mr Mbai, as reported by eDaily.
