Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has broken his silence over the Kenyenya police shooting incident which took place two weeks ago..
Speaking on Monday at Kereri Girls Kisii County, Matiang'i said investigations are ongoing to bring the police officer who shot dead the boda boda rider into book.
"No police officer is allowed to misuse his or her gun. The officer who shot unarmed boda boda rider when locals were protesting in Kenyenya 2 weeks ago must face the full force of the law," he said.
The Cabinet Secretary said the killer police officer will not be defended by anyone because he killed the rider alone.
He warned local leaders against politicizing the police shooting saying detectives are already on the ground ongoing with investigations before the suspect will be arraigned in court.
"Members of the public must remain calm to give detectives humble time to probe the heinous shooting. The family of the deceased must get justice once the killer police officer is taken to court," he added.
The former education cabinet secretary maintained that he is committed to transform the police boss.
