Muthama wants the President to act without mercy and ensure individuals linked to the theft of public funds and resources are punished.

Speaking at Pipeline in Nairobi on Wednesday when he led campaigns for Julius Mawathe ahead of the Embakasi South by-election,  Muthama said corruption will bring down the President if he does not act firmly and decisively.

He asked the President not to spare top government officials who have been adversely mentioned in graft scandals.

"President Kenyatta must remain firm and act decisively on people who are tainting his government by stealing from public coffers,” Muthama said.

Muthama asked the President not to spare anyone even if some of the suspects are closer to him.

“Kenyans want to see these corrupt people who have been mentioned in big corruption scandals being jailed,” he said.

He said it is time for the President to act for Kenyans' interests and his legacy.

The former Machakos Senator warned that the country could plunge into economic crisis because of rampant graft.

Pressure is piling on President Kenyatta to take stern action against top government officials who have been mentioned in graft scandals.

On Tuesday while officially opening the 6th Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga County, President Kenyatta vowed to continue the fight against graft.

He said no one implicated in the graft will be spared.

The President said those who have information that he is corrupt should forward it to the DCI.
