Deputy President William Ruto is a very wealthy politician if recent revelations are anything to go by.
It is widely known that the DP is among the few Kenyans who own private jets and he has never shied away from disclosing so.
But what most people are not aware of, is the number of choppers the self-declared 'hustler' owns.
According to former Jubilee Party vice-chairman David Murathe, Ruto is a billionaire who currently owns seven helicopters.
To proof that the second in command is a man with deep pockets, the former Gatanga MP further disclosed Ruto is building a multi-billion mansion at his rural home in Uasin Gishu County.
Murathe, however, questioned the source of the DP's wealth, noting that even former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, a foe-turned-ally of Ruto, had also raised same concerns.
"Khalwale is on record saying he wants William Ruto to explain how he has acquired 4 or 5 helicopters, he now has 7. How he’s building a house worth Sh1.2 billion in Sugoi, where is the source of his money?" he posed during Point Blank show on Wednesday.
The former Jubilee Party official sensationally claimed most of Ruto's wealth has been acquired through proceeds of corruption, including the prestigious Weston Hotel in Nairobi.
"The hotel which he owns sits on a piece of land which has been stolen," Murathe further claimed.
