In Luo Nyanza, opposition leader Raila Odinga's say and the support of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is almost a guaranteed win when elections come.

However, judging by the changes that have been seen in the region lately, including ODM's loss in the Ugenya parliamentary seat last month, things could change in 2022.

Here are some of Raila's allies who are very likely to lose in the much-anticipated elections despite appearing very likely to clinch the ODM ticket.

1. Samuel Atandi

Atandi or 'Meli' as he is called by his supporters is already having a bad name after only serving for 3 years, having come to power in the 2017 general elections.

What could spoil it for him is his history of violence, having been implicated in four cases violence so far, including a near fist fight encounter with former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa at the Kisumu Airport last year.

Considering that Kenyans are now embracing sober politics, this could cost him, in addition to the fact that he is not known to have many any impact in the Parliament.

Also in the list is the stiff competition he is facing from Kisumu based businessman Martin Otieno alias Mijeshi, who is promising to give him a run for his money.

2. James Onyango K'Oyoo

The former KANU diehard decamped to the People Democratic Party to win the Muhoroni parliamentary seat in 2013, before winning s place in Raila's heart in 2017.

He is currently in the office on the ODM party, but floods and poor rice and sugarcane prices for farmers remain a headache in the region which falls under Kisumu county.

He has also been unable to intervene for the revival of the Muhoroni, Miwani and Chemelil sugar companies, which might push the people to seek a more capable person in 2022.

3. Fred Outa

Just like K'Oyoo, the Kisumu Senator is also not known for anything meaningful for his people, 3 years as the Senator and five as the Nyando lawmaker previously.

Rarely is he seen in Parliament making any presentations, as the likes of Siaya Senator James Orengo repeatedly participate in discussions.

If not careful, he might land in problems come 2022.
