Moments after Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa hailed the DCI for arresting Kakamega Senator Cleopas Malala over recent killings in Matungu, his role in Bungoma's insecurity has been questioned.
Former Bungoma Senatorial aspirant David Makali asked the MP to tell Kenyans about those behind terror gangs in Sibembe and Kabula areas of Bungoma.
"Gangs have been terrorising people in Bungoma, too, including Sibembe and Kabula neighbouring Matungu. Please tell us who is responsible, sir," Makali told the MP.
He further asked the legislator to follow the rule of law which presumes anyone arrested as innocent until proven guilty.
"And hope you have evidence for your conclusive indictment bure utajua hujui. Everyone is a suspect, presumed innocent until proven guilty," he added
Senator Malala was arrested at Sovereign Hotel in Kisumu on Friday.
Other Leaders arrested in connection to the killings include former Sports CS Rashid Echesa and Mayoni Ward MCA Libinus Oduor for alleged incitement in the area.
