The two, Monica Cheposis and Francis Shibero have been deputies to Julius Simatei, the principal who is said to be almost retiring.

In a funeral announcement published in one of the local dailies on Monday, the school management announced the teachers' death and burial arrangements.

"Board of management, principal and the entire Wareng High school wishes to announce the passing on of our beloved teachers Mr Francis Shibero and Mrs Monicah Cheposis who were dedicated deputy principals," reads part of the funeral announcement.

There have been speculations and claims that the deaths were as a result of witchcraft, a narrative the school principal Julius Simatei dismissed.

According to Simatei, the claims are only meant to tarnish his name.

"I have stayed with Mr Shibero for over 14 years and Mrs Cheposis for 8 years surely why should I decide to kill them now? These are just total lies. People spreading such rumours should respect the deceased families since they are the ones who know what happened to the departed," the principal said.

Simatei said the late Cheposis has been ill for the last one year while Shibero who was transferred to another school two months ago collapsed and died at his house.

Cheposis will be buried on Thursday at Outspan on the outskirts of Eldoret town while burial for Shibero is scheduled for Saturday in Kipsaina, Trans Nzoia county.
