The Directorate of Criminal Investigation has this Wednesday morning arrested a businessman from Eldoret town in Uasin Gishu County who was re-packaging expired products.
Through a tweet, DCI said a multi-agency team lead by the DCI acted on a tip-off from residents to arrest Dominic Mwangi Karanja who had expired goods including human drugs.
According to the DCI, Mwangi is suspected to be a businessman who repackage expired good and sell them to consumers as new products, fit for use.
"A Multi-agency team comprising of @DCI_Kenya detectives, @PoliceKE officers, and @KRACorporate officers, acting on a tip off from members of the public have early this morning gained entry and searched the home of one Dominic Mwangi Karanja at Kasarani estate within Langasa area in Eldoret, where several expired goods, agro chemicals, animal feeds and human drugs were recovered from a hall used for repackaging and storage of the same. Machines used for repackaging, assorted farm implements, plastic containers containing lab chemicals," read DCI's tweets
The DCI added that other two suspects, Benard Rono and Kezia Wanjiru Thuo were also arrested and are of use for the investigating team.
