The suspects include; Monianku principal Mr. Christopher Otieno, Deputy Principal Peter Aroni, Irene Kivuja, Alex Akuma, Ann Nyaboke, Bernard Omwoyo, Edwin Morwabe, Joel Nyakwanya, Gideon Nyagaka, Omagwa Onyancha, Abuta Onyancha, John Abuta, Christopher Ogora, Edwin Makori and Judy Nyaboke.

The accused persons appearing before Ogembo Magistrate Margaret Nafula were charged for being in possession of examination materials to the recently completed exams but, they denied the charges.

Nafula ordered their release immediately and set the mentioning of the case to be on December 10 and hearing date will be set thereafter.

The prosecution tried to oppose the suspects' release on bond or cash bail in vain.

The magistrate dismissed the prosecution's appeal on grounds that the rights of the accused persons could be violated given that they have been in custody at Nyamarambe police station for almost a month.

The prosecution cited that more time was needed for the probe to be completed.
