A woman from Rioma in Marani, Kisii County is calling for justice after her 17-year-old daughter was raped by a 45-year-old man.
Nyaboke (name changed for the protection of the victim) alleged that the man identified as Lukas Omwoyo lured her daughter into his house after giving her Sh500 on Monday evening.
"Omwoyo lured my daughter after dishing out Sh500. He raped her several times before she screamed for help," she said.
Mrs. Nyaboke, a widow said she called her neighbours who went to rescue her daughter could not manage to arrest the suspect.
"Omwoyo threatened to slash neighbours who tried to apprehend him. He later escaped into a nearby bush and has since gone into hiding," said Nyaboke.
She called on police officers from Rioma to hunt down the suspect and arrest him.
Area assistant chief, Thomas Onsombi confirmed the incident and said the suspect is being hunted down.
"Members of the public should cooperate to ensure the suspect is brought to book," he said.
He said the Sh500 Omwoyo gave the victim was recovered.
"Upon questioning the victim she produced Sh500 Omwoyo gave her before she lured her into the house. Her private parts were damaged and she was rushed to Kisii Teaching and referral hospital for treatment," he said.
