Analyst and social media personality Benji Ndolo fired a salvo Friday at embattled Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula over a viral phone recording allegedly of the legislator engaging an Arab.
Ndolo was replying to Moses Wetangula's tweet wishing former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale all the best as he joined the governing Jubilee party.
"Your voice recording is all over duping Arabs and you want to divert attention by addressing a non-issue about an insignificant party whose lion is fake and the color of a plant omg!" Ndolo's tweet read.
Ndolo's hard-hitting tweet comes in the wake of investigations undertaken by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) into the activities of a fake gold syndicate.
A number of arrests have already been made by investigative sleuths.
The DCI said that the former Senate minority leader is a person of interest in the wide-ranging probe.
In the phone recording, Wetangula is heard trying to placate an angry man with an Arab accent.
Given the number of countries involved in the syndicate, the DCI could be looking at a transnational crime.
Senator Wetangula, at the time of writing this article, had not yet weight in on the phone recording that has been trending since Friday.
