Residents of Gianchere in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County have disowned area MP Richard Tong'i after he donated a 'cheap water tank' to Gianchere Secondary.
Locals led by Lameck Mochache said the MP is a disgrace to the electorates.
"Mr. Tong'i has been making public relations in the constituency without anything tangible for locals to celebrate. The cheap donation he offered to the institution won't change anything," he said.

Mochache challenged the Jubilee legislator to ensure equal distribution of CDF funds when disbursing bursaries.
Peris Kemunto condemned the MP saying he has been making empty promises to the electorates.
"The MP is lazy and should be ignored. He made several promises during the last year's polls which he is yet to implement. Traders are suffering but, he is doing nothing. He should take his cheap water tank to place at his home to us," she noted.
Andrew Matundura dismissed the MP's donation saying it is meant to cheat the electorates.
"We don't want cheap tanks but, boreholes to ensure there is constant water supply. Tong'i is too irrelevant. It is regretful that we elected a failure," said Matundura.
During the donation last week on Friday, the MP said the water tank should be used to store water so that learners are not sent to fetch water from rivers.
"Time wasted for learners to fetch water from rivers will now be a past tense since the tank will store water for use," he said.
