Nyamira County Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo has fired warning shots to his boss governor John Nyagaramaa over the illegal hiring of county employees.
Nyaribo claimed that the county wage bill has hiked because some individuals hired through the back door are earning monthly salaries.
"Some employees were recruited few months to 2017 polls and were tasked to campaign for H. E Nyagarama. After the elections in 2017, a number of them were also recruited without the knowledge of Public Service Board," he said.
He also stated that the last bunch of people were hired in March and April 2018.
"This illegality ought to be addressed soonest. It's the reason why our wage bill is now at 65 per cent. These people had their letters backdated to 2016 and were asked to specifically open bank accounts with Family Bank and Cooperative bank," said frustrated Nyaribo.
Nyaribo added that what Governor Nyagarama is doing is absolutely incredible.
Nyaribo's remarks comes after several weeks he re-united with Governor Nyagarama when he accompanied him to launch various projects across the county including Magwagwa health center.
