Thousands of people from all walks of life thronged the home of the late Jonathan Toroitich in Kabimoi, Eldama Ravine, Baringo County on Saturday for his final send-off.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga were absent during the burial ceremony.
During the burial, his firstborn son, Clinton Moi eulogized him as a hardworking and dedicated man who changed the lives of many.
He also Jonathan as a man full of love and affection. Clinton further said that the death of his father is a big blow to the family.
“To some, he was a champion, to others he was a teacher. To me, he was a hero and source of strength and inspiration. He was a giant among men who could do no wrong,” Kiprono said in his final message.
Jonathan succumbed to Cancer last Saturday at a Nakuru hospital. He will be remembered for his role in the Safari Rally.
Deputy President William Ruto is among the leaders who attended the burial of Jonathan. Several leaders have continued to mourn the deceased following the news of his demise.
